POKER CHIP DENOMINATIONS & VALUES

POKER CHIP DENOMINATIONS & VALUES
There are no official poker chip color and denomination standards, unless mandated by local law or regulation. In the absence of that, each gaming establishment is free to select their own colors and corresponding poker chip values. However, there are some commonly observed ones within the gaming industry.

THE STANDARD CASINO POKER CHIP
The poker chips most likely to be encountered in casinos are usually 39 mm in diameter, 3.5 mm thick and weigh about 10 grams.

Here are poker chip colors and their most commonly associated values or denominations, as well as World Series of Poker chip denominations.

The most consistently used poker chip denominations are white ($1), red ($5), green ($25) and black ($100).  Other chip values, especially high denominations are more variable.  Some casinos may have special denominations like $2 chips specifically for their $2-4 or $4-8 games or $3 chips for $3-6 games.  Pink gaming chips are commonly valued at $2.50 or $250 but are typically restricted to blackjack play.  Of course, for your home poker game, you can designate any value you want for any chip color and vary them depending on whether you are playing for small or larger stakes or in a regular "cash" game or tournament.
